OVERVIEW:

The Vice-President, CMIO Operations is responsible for projects and deliverables related the CMIO scope of work, including responsibility for representing the CMIO and CMO for analytic and reporting and software development requirements, governance and acceptance approval for projects and programs for whom the CMIO or CMO are Executive Sponsors, Sponsors or Stakeholders. 

The VP, CMIO Operations will use analytic, questioning and system knowledge skills to define the needs of projects through their own independent knowledge base, as well as through engagement with the correct stakeholders for each project.  They will ensure those requirements and expectations are well documented and understood by the teams who are building analyses, reports and applications and represent the CMIO and CMO in prioritization of features/functionality, user acceptance testing, project management and workgroup meetings, and project governance meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent the CMO and CMIO in project meetings, requirements gathering sessions, prioritization sessions, governance, testing, user acceptance testing, and implementation of products
  • Under limited supervision, responsible for taking a concept and breaking it down to articulate the requirements for an analysis, report or application to be ingested by responsible development team
  • Able to review and approve requirements documents, user stories and test plans provided by teams and ensure they are aligned with overall project goals and intent
  • Able to identify gaps in requirements for complex systems/applications and partner with team members to ensure they are addressed
  • Able to prioritize features or components of systems, understand dependencies across business processes and systems, and ensure those are accounted for in design considerations
  • Responsible for assembling necessary external stakeholders, including clinicians, clinician leadership and back-office functional business owners to ensure that needs have been identified to incorporate into requirements by the teams
  • Able to work closely with software engineers, business analysts, data analysts, application owners and executive sponsors to ensure that development of new tools will meet the goals and requirements of the CMO and CMIO
  • Understands underlying business operations, data elements, data capture processes, and system integrations to ensure that analyses, reports and software development projects correctly account for data and/or workflow limitations
  • Develops and contributes ideas and opinions about system requirements, workflows, user experience and user interface
  • Gains understanding of TeamHealth proprietary and enterprise systems and business processes
  • Aids in the enhancement of current systems and implementation of new systems for the company
  • May lead a team of 1-3 additional individuals on specific projects
  • Handles other duties as assigned by management

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) or more year experience in clinical operations, including exposure or responsibility for clinician contracting, scheduling, credentialing, provider enrollment, onboarding, scheduling and payroll operations
  • Clinical training and experience (physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or nurse) required
  • Five (5) or more years as a demonstrated leader of teams with responsibility for interacting directly with clinicians to ensure business and backend operations meet their needs, along with the needs of hospitals, health systems, patients and clients
  • Significant experience as an independent leader with material decision-making authority, responsibility and accountability
  • Healthcare experience required;
  • Strong familiarity with Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine clinical operations required
  • Formal training in Clinical Informatics preferred
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Patience and ability to excel under pressure, handling multiple requests often with tight deadlines
  • Resourcefulness, ingenuity, strong decision making and problem solving skills
