OVERVIEW:

The Director of Technical Delivery is responsible for leading the technical team in transforming the billing systems infrastructure. This role requires an understanding of both current technologies, such as MUMPS, InterSystems IRIS/CACHE, and hierarchical databases, and modern approaches, including decoupled architecture and API-driven solutions. The Director will provide vision, direction, and leadership to drive the transition towards a more modern, flexible, and scalable environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Technical Leadership – Provide guidance and direction in technical decision-making and innovation
  • Collaboration –Work effectively with various IT teams, including Solution Delivery, Operations, Digital Infrastructure, and Information Security to achieve shared goals
  • Communication – Clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Negotiation – Facilitate discussions and negotiations with vendors, partners, and internal teams to align on technical solutions
  • Vision –Develop and articulate a clear vision for the future of the billing system technology portfolio and its alignment with business goals
  • Inspiration - Motivate and inspire the technical team to achieve excellence and embrace innovation
  • Disciplined Execution –Ensure meticulous planning, execution, and follow-through on all technical projects and initiatives

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Lead and manage the Technical Delivery team, including Software Developers, Quality Assurance, and other technical staff
  • Analyze and improve upon technology standards across the organization to maintain a technological and competitive edge within the market
  • Oversee the design, development, and integration of APIs to facilitate seamless communication between new and existing systems
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on selecting and implementing built and/or bought solutions that align with the company’s strategic objectives
  • Assess and communicate risks associated with technology-related investments and purchases
  • Collaborate closely with the Solution Delivery team to ensure that technical implementations meet business needs and support the overall solution architecture
  • Ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to new technologies, minimizing business disruption and ensuring data integrity
  • Monitor and manage technical project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful delivery and high-quality outcomes
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the technical team, encouraging the adoption of best practices and new technologies
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for team members, building a strong and capable technical team
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging this knowledge to inform strategic decisions and technical direction
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, applicable laws and regulations, and security protocols

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
  • A minimum of five years’ IT leadership experience
  • Proven experience in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and delivering IT solutions within the healthcare industry.
  • Revenue Cycle billing system experience, such as with athenaIDX, would be ideal
  • Strong relationship skills
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation capabilities
  • Demonstrated IT background and experience, including analytical ability to solve complex technical problems
  • Great values and manners
