Job Requirements of Senior Accountant / Emergency Medicine - Remote:
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or degree and equivalent accounting experience) required
- Healthcare industry experience highly desireable
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in corporate or operational reporting/analysis or public accounting; proven skill accomplishments preparing and communicating models, trend analysis, operational metrics, etc.
- Healthcare experience in a practice management environment preferred
- Strong general ledger and monthly closing experience, through financial statements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to create and work with pivot tables, write formulas, chart customization, v-lookups, etc.)
- Lawson ERP Software experience highly desired
- Experience with Hyperion, Essbase or other planning/reporting software preferred
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technical skills
- Impeccable attention to detail when following set instructions and reviewing reports for accuracy
- Experience in coordinating simultaneous assignments from various levels across the organization by assessing project deadlines, establishing work priorities, and coordinating work schedule
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both orally and written)
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent judgment and decision making skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including tact and ability to handle confidential and personal information with discretion
- Ability to work well with others, and work with minimal direction/supervision
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize work; handle stress and conflict

Senior Accountant / Emergency Medicine - Remote

OVERVIEW:
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Accountant includes preparation of financial and operational information for executive management; assisting in the preparation of projections and budgets; developing and improving operational reporting tools; analyzing and providing targeted results-oriented recommendations in conjunction with management and leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee month-end process to include: journal entries, resolving financial issues, preliminary review of financial statements and supporting schedules
- Prepare monthly reports on budget vs actual results
- Prepare certain balance sheet account reconciliations
- Responsible for monthly projection process for book of business
- Assist/responsible for annual budget process for book of business
- Prepare pricing models to project financial performance of new contracts or changes in current contracts as requested
- Create budgets for new startups – using business development pricing model
- Oversee contract/billing AR with staff accountant
- Prepare local business tax returns.
- Liaison with operations for questions and support
- Facilitate monthly financial review meetings with the Operations team
- Review accounts payable
- Special projects as assigned
