Job Requirements of Director of Correctional Medicine (Remote):
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. degree required, MBA preferred
- Extensive service-line experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
- Certification in Correctional Medicine a plus
- Ten (10) + years’ experience, preferably in a managerial capacity
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent problem-solving/decision-making skills
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
- Good computer skills (word-processing and spreadsheet)
- Ability to build effective action plans and hold people accountable
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage and direct others
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for supervision of LPN’s, RN’s and EMT’s within the service-line
- Oversees scheduling for each site ensuring contracted coverage is met on a daily basis
PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Job performed in both at home office and within the contracted jails themselves
- Occasional work in a plant setting
- Potential exposure to illness or disease
- Moderate travel
- Occasional lifting/carrying (50 pounds or less)
- Moderate to high stress
- Prolonged walking/standing
- Prolonged work on a PC/computer
- Prolonged sitting
This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:
This position oversees and manages the TeamHealth Correctional Medicine program of TeamHealth Northeast. This position provides leadership and support in terms of the administrative, operational, and sales functions of the service-line.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the development and oversight of service-line budget. This includes but is not limited to: approving invoices, financial reports, expenditures, etc.
- Plans and/or develops programs and proposals for the service-line
- Manages the onsite correctional medicine programs across the region
- Manages client contracts which includes following up with customer service issues, placing phone calls, and visiting clients
- Places sales calls to solicit additional business for the region which may include developing proposals or giving a presentation
- Provides assistance and direction with various staff or company issues
- Attends trade shows to market the company’s services
- Provides any special presentations on the behalf of TeamHealth Northeast for business development activities, etc.
- Attends TeamHealth operational meetings and provides expert advice/input regarding relevant issues
- Supervises the non-provider staff of TeamHealth Correctional Medicine. This includes but is not limited to developing/enforcing policy and procedure, selection, training, performance assessment and career development
- Works collaboratively with Lead RN/LPN to ensure effectiveness, consistency and quality of correctional medicine services provided at the correctional facilities
- Performs any other tasks as directed by the Senior Vice President
