QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- 6 months previous medical billing experience preferred;
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written;
- Proficiency in basic computer operations;
- Must have ability to multi-task;
- Excellent organizational skills including but not limited to general organizing, planning and time management;
- Excellent follow-up skills;
- Must demonstrate attention to detail;
- Accurate 10-key by touch;
- 40-45 WPM;
- Saving and printing Excel spreadsheets;
- Basic knowledge of operating office machinery;
- Detail-oriented;
- Effective telephone communication skills;
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- None
PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
This job will be performed in a well-lighted and well-vented environment. Work is oriented around good visual skills. Eye fatigue may be encountered as extended amount of time is spent in front of computer display terminal.
This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week. Overtime may be required and can be mandated by Management.

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:
Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for processing insurance and patient payments for their assigned regions either manually or electronically. The position is responsible for balancing batches against daily deposits and maintaining daily production reports.
This position is remote ONLY after on-site training and meeting QA/production/attendance metrics, so candidates would need to be local to the Louisville/Knoxville, TN area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for processing insurance and patient payments for their assigned regions either manually or electronically. The position is responsible for balancing batches against daily deposits and maintaining daily production reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processing payments for insurance companies and patients either electronically or manually within established timeframe.
- Posting payment batches including denials within established timeframe and balancing batches against daily deposits.
- Provide supporting documentation for each payment transaction through submission of the daily control number report and daily production log for all batches (manual and electronic).
- Maintains knowledge of all policy and procedures.
- Participates in unit progress meetings.
- Turns to Supervisor for unusual circumstances.
- Performs any and all duties as directed by management.
