Patient Safety Specialist - Remote

This position is remote anywhere in the U.S.

OVERVIEW:

The Patient Safety Specialist reports to the Director, Patient Safety Organization (PSO) and works collaboratively with other team members, including the Executive Director of the PSO, IT, and service line leaders, to coordinate patient safety initiatives.

This position is best suited for a LPN / RN

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform an intake review for all reported incidents
  • Determine the pathway for each event while ensuring appropriate protections and avoiding disclosures
  • Assist the Director, Patient Safety Org with patient safety activities, including coordinating reviews and providing feedback in a safe and secure manner; perform focused chart audits using large data sets
  • Coordinates educational content/edits educational content developed by expert clinicians
  • Coordinates a quarterly Patient Safety newsletter
  • Assist the Director, Patient Safety Org with additional quality of care programs, such as responding to third party inquiries
  • Special projects coordinator for patient safety initiatives prioritized by the THPSO BOD, Exec Director or Director of THPSO; Special projects should enhance the delivery of healthcare and improve our

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree and experience in patient safety or risk management
  • Health care experience (LPN or RN)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, including customer service skills (verbal and written)
  • Computer Skills in Office Suite
  • High degree of initiative, willingness to take responsibility, and implement complex programs
  • Must have ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Proven ability to work on diverse projects and with multiple people
