Sr. Operations Analyst

OVERVIEW:
The Sr Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in enabling our success in the CMS Quality Payment Program. This individual will validate data integrity, improve and develop operational insights, support regulatory reporting, monitor process efficiency, and support operational communication efforts. This individual will also be responsible for creating and running queries to help identify trends, volume, gaps, and provide insights that support projections and the overall health of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Understand program data, ETL processes, and system integrations to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Act as a technical resource, collaborating with leaders and peers to research, diagnose, and develop recommendations to resolve operational issues related to internal and external reporting
  • Improve operational processes through systematized scripts, statistical and data analysis, and data visualization
  • Solve complex problems and propose solutions by drawing inference from data, thinking critically, and developing & analyzing multiple scenarios
  • Identify and document stakeholder/business requirements necessary to support business operations activities, ensuring accurate and consistency
  • Partner with IT to test and validate data changes impacting reports, analyses, and external reporting requirements
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to data sources, data definitions, report and analyses logic
  • Maintains reports and data marts to align to CMS program definitions and requirements annually
  • Handles other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements:



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field such as Data Analytics, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Two to three years of work experience in a data-driven professional setting as a data, business, or operations analyst
  • Experience analyzing and managing large data sets
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of data querying techniques, especially SQL, MS SQL and MS Excel Programming
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Power BI for report creation, publication, distribution, and permission/security administration
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Well-organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
