Clinical Educator - Post Acute Care

OVERVIEW:

The Clinical Educator (CE) plays a crucial role in educating and mentoring new and existing clinicians. The CE will support the PAC Clinical Orientation Program by providing remote, national-level support to clinicians throughout their first three months of employment. The CE will collaborate with the PAC Clinical Orientation Program Coordinator to implement the new hire orientation process. The CE will support the clinical orientation process by working with clinical and operational stakeholders who are providing the orientation and education, as well as field mentors. This position is 100% administrative.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • In addition to supporting the ongoing PAC Clinical Orientation program, the CE will also allocate approximately 10 hours weekly to education department initiatives and an additional 10 hours weekly for emerging needs and escalations (both via remote assistance and office hours)
  • The CE will support both new hires and existing clinicians
  • The CE is the subject matter expert on QM Fallout support and will support all clinicians to MIPS QM Measure success for 2025 via live individual and national educational calls
  • Educate on clinical documentation and PAC setting best practices via national live calls on rounding cadence, documentation review training, preventing and correcting quality metric fallouts
  • Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Educators (CDE) as needed during the orientation process when deficiencies are identified to ensure proper coding and documentation requirements are being met
  • Support MIPS-eligible clinician education MACRA/MIPS, BAA, Quality Measures & selection, and navigation of MIPS Portal via monthly Fallout Calls and office hours.
  • A resource to the RMDs, CMLs, VPOs, and CPMs when there are clinical education concerns and opportunities for improvement
  • Performs other clinical education duties as assigned by the National Director of Education and PAC Group President
  • Collaborates with the Orientation Coordinator to promote successful onboarding outcomes

  • Work closely with the PAC Orientation Coordinator to ensure that new hire orientation schedules are organized, efficient, and communicated in a timely manner to all stakeholders

Job Requirements:





QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
  • Experience in practicing APC in PAC settings
  • Working knowledge of billing, coding, and documentation requirements for PAC service line
  • Strong knowledge of Skilled and Long-Term Care Facility structure and functions
  • Drive for continuous learning and has a proven ability to teach
  • 2-3 years of clinical and technology training experience
  • Expected to possess and cultivate Executive Presence
  • Excellent communication and people skills: oral, written, and presentational
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent facilitator/mentorship skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Professional conduct, communication, and appearance
  • The Clinical Educator is not permitted to work in any clinical capacity, providing patient care Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.
    to 5 p.m., during their 8-hour administrative workday
  • The CE is permitted to work clinically after their 8-hour administrative workday is completed or on weekends to achieve their required clinical hours as required by their state license and board certification of 1000 hours every five years
