Associate Project Manager

TeamHealth REMOTE, TN (Onsite) Full-Time

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position owns Operations Support and Provider Services related projects from the initial intake process of understanding the business needs/requirements through the life of the project to the end concluding with Lessons Learned. The Project Manager works to obtain a strong understanding of the TeamHealth organization and Operations Support/Provider Services processes, roles and ways it brings value to our clinicians. This individual must be a trained and experienced Project Manager with demonstrated abilities around developing project plans, projecting needed resources, developing project timelines, working within budget parameters, leading project team meetings, identifying and communicating risks, providing routine updates and documenting all to ensure alignment among team members. The individual must be highly energetic, self-starter, solution driven, adept in developing and using metrics and flexible in his/her interpersonal style. Outstanding communications skills in both written and verbal expression are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the project lifecycle and related documentation (i.e. initiation, planning, execution, controlling, and closing), and must be persistent and relentless in leading project teams to success.
  • Under limited supervision can manage multiple projects and responsibilities while monitoring, summarizing, communicating, and reporting status of projects.
  • Identifies, analyzes and makes recommendations to adopt and implement best practices and processes across the organization and throughout all projects.
  • Contributes by also collecting/analyzing data, assisting in developing presentations and producing other project artifacts.
  • Works with key stakeholders to develop optimal project charters, project plans and related budget including project prioritization, resource commitments, issue identification and success metrics.
  • Communicates plans, issues and responsibilities clearly and concisely to project team members, functional managers, sponsors and other project stakeholders.
  • Understands Change Management theory and practices and able to apply with complex projects.
  • Achieves a working knowledge of key software applications used by Operations Support and Provider Services.
  • Maintains close relationships with Subject Matter Experts to understand processes and data/metrics related to Onboarding, Contracting, Credentialing, Scheduling and Malpractice Support.
  • Able to assemble appropriate project team members, identifying needed tasks and responsibilities, facilitating team meetings and maintain alignment around project schedule and budget.
  • Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques in order to keep the project plan accurate and updated with authorized project changes.
  • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.
  • Handles other duties, meetings and projects as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development or Management, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ recent experience in project management involving projects crossing multiple business functions and software applications, and experience with a broad range of project types is necessary.
    Experience as a Business analyst or with Agile software development and healthcare is helpful.
  • Formal project management training is required.
    PMP certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 2 years required.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both orally and written), particularly the ability to bridge communications between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills accompanied by flexibility to quickly adapt.
  • Experience in group facilitation, work process analysis, and change management.
  • Technical aptitude with basic understanding of databases and IT systems.
  • Extensive knowledge and work experience using various software applications (specifically Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, SmartSheets, Visio, and collaborative technologies).
  • Ability to handle stress and conflict.
