Physician Scheduler- Remote

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

The Physician Scheduler is responsible for coordinating monthly schedules in conjunction with clinical leadership based on availability of part time, full time and Locums providers with minimal additional expense. This position is also responsible for filling open shifts, as needed. The Scheduler remains in constant contact with the providers and facility leadership to serve as a point of contact after the onboarding process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Publish schedules via scheduling program while maintaining a focus on long-term goal of 60 days advance notice for providers

•Conduct expectations calls with newly contracted providers and trains them on the use of the scheduling software program

•Fill open shifts and address schedule lockouts in conjunction with leadership

•Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure coverage at all assigned facilities

•Enter approved bonuses into designated forms with appropriate documentation to alert payroll of extra shift pay

•Assist in tracking and projecting premium labor usage by following established premium labor processes

•Support new facility start ups and schedule facility orientation sessions in a timely manner

•Perform scheduling system maintenance including input of preferences and shift edits

•Assume other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

•Bachelor’s Degree preferred

•One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a scheduling position or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

•Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence desired outcomes

•Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) with a focus on follow-up

•Excellent decision-making/judgment/problem solving skills and negotiating skills

•Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

•Good computer skills (word-processing, spreadsheet, database management)

•Ability to work with minimal supervision/direction

•Ability to meet deadlines and escalate challenges appropriately

•Capable of working in stressful situations

•Ability to work in a team environment
