JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

The Sr. Overprovisions Representative is responsible for maintaining accuracy and production for the department, overseeing daily functions of employees and training of department staff. The senior provides leadership and guidance to the Representatives in the Overprovisions department. The department’s goal is to examine and apply the necessary action to have all overpayments completed within HCFS guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes all refunds up to $2,000.00
  • Provides training to new staff, as well as, in service training of established staff
  • Performs quality audits on all Overprovisions staff members regardless of established or new hires
  • Participates in departmental meetings
  • Participate in meeting with Overprovisions Supervisor for production goals and progress updates
  • Report any errors or problems identified that affect accounts from being processed correctly
  • Review any unusual circumstances that may include offsets, unidentified payments, refunds, etc. with Supervisor
  • Communicates with various members of the Patient Accounts, Patient Services or AR Management team
  • Reviews ETM PIT reports daily to provide guidance to employees on how to effectively organize and process worklist
  • Responsible for maintaining policy and procedures
  • Performs any and/or all duties as directed as requested

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Education equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade with one year experience in a medical billing setting with primary emphasis on payment posting
  • High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a high accuracy performance
  • Professional interpersonal demeanor with proven oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and in a close team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience requiring sound judgment and leadership skills
  • Basic knowledge of GE/IDX required

Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
