JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for processing transaction editing system (TES) batches, auditing CPT coding for accuracy, and other coding tasks as needed. The ideal candidate should know medical terminology and coding rules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process transaction editing system (TES) edits according to billing policies
- Audit CPT coding for accuracy
- Process transaction editing system (TES) entry batches when needed
- Review and process medical charts to meet department goals
- Report any issues or irregularities to the Analyst/Supervisor
- Stay updated with memos, bulletins, and training materials
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Business Partner Operation (BPO) Management
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
- Highschool Diploma or GED required
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
- Knowledge of physician billing policies and procedures
- Medical Billing and or Coding Certificate is desired but not required
- Trained in medical billing practices
- Regular and predictable attendance is required

- Good communication skills
